OSI 7계층 모델

OSI 모델(Open Standards Interconnection model)이란?

국제표준화기구(ISO)가 정의한 국제 통신 규약

네트워크의 기본 구조를 일곱 개 계층으로 나눠서 표준화한 통신 규약으로 현재 다른 모든 통신 규약의 기반이 됨

 

데이터를 전송하는 쪽(송신 측)은 데이터를 보내기 위해서 상위 계층에서 하위 계층으로 데이터를 전달함. 각 계층은 독립적이므로 데이터가 전달되는 동안에 다른 계층의 영향을 받지 않음. 데이터를 받는 쪽(수신 측)은 하위 계층에서 상위 계층으로 각 계층을 통해 전달된 데이터를 받게 됨

송신 측의 7계층과 수신 측의 7계층을 통해 데이터를 주고 받음

7	Application 응용 (애플리케이션) 계층	Data	High-level APIs, including resource sharing, remote file access 이메일 & 파일 전송, 웹 사이트 조회 등 애플리케이션에 대한 서비스 제공
6	Presentation 표현 (프레젠테이션) 계층		Translation of data between a networking service and an application; including character encoding, data compression and encryption/decryption 데이터 표현 방법: 문자 코드, 압축, 암호화 등의 데이터를 변환함
5	Session 세션 계층		Managing communication sessions, i.e., continuous exchange of information in the form of multiple back-and-forth transmissions between two nodes 통신 시작과 종료 순서: 세션 체결, 통신 방식을 결정함
4	Transport 전송 계층	Segment, Datagram	Reliable transmission of data segments between points on a network, including segmentation, acknowledgement and multiplexing 네트워크의 통신 관리: 신뢰할 수 있는 통신을 구현함
3	Network 네트워크 계층	Packet	Structuring and managing a multi-node network, including addressing, routingand traffic control 네트워크 통신 경로 선택: 다른 네트워크와 통신하기 위한 경로 설정 및 논리 주소를 결정함
2	Data link 데이터 링크 계층	Frame	Reliable transmission of data frames between two nodes connected by a physical layer 직접 접속돼 있는 기기 간 처리: 네트워크 기기 간의 데이터 전송 및 물리 주소를 결정함
1	Physical 물리 계층	Bit, Symbol	Transmission and reception of raw bit streams over a physical medium 전기적인 접속: 시스템 간의 물리적인 연결과 전기 신호를 변환 및 제어함
