rampage, wield, emulate, spate

rampage: (흔히 파괴 등을 저지르며 한동안 벌이는) 광란

  1. violent or excited behavior that is reckless, uncontrolled, or destructive.

  2. a state of violent anger or agitation

e.g. The smallest mistake sends him into a rampage. The river has gone on a rampage and flooded the countryside.

 

Fears grow over copycat crimes following series of stabbing rampages.

 

wield: (무기·도구를) 휘두르다[들다]

 

In a separate incident, a knife-wielding man in his 20s was apprehended (체포되다) at the ground floor of Seoul Express Bus Terminal in Seocho District, Friday. 

 

emulate: formal (흠모하는 대상을) 모방하다[따라 가다]

They also said at least 42 copycat crime threats have been posted on online communities and through Telegram messenger, where users have explicitly threatened to carry out similar attacks, emulating the recent spate of stabbings, since the stabbing rampage near Sillim Station, July 21.

 

spate: (보통 불쾌한 일의) 빈발

a large number of things that appear or happen in a short period of time

 

firearm: (소지가 가능한 권총 등의) 화기

stun gun: 전기 충격기

culprit: 범인, (문제를 일으킨) 장본인

e.g. Yoon urged police officers to use firearms and stun guns against culprits at the scenes of stabbing rampages.

parole: 가석방

e.g. The justice ministry (법무부) also announced, Friday, that it will consider introducing life imprisonment without parole for offenders of serious crimes.
